Princess is a 6-year-old girl residing at a Children’s Home and attending a local Primary School. She is a total orphan, having been rescued from the care of her grandmother who struggled with alcoholism. The Children’s Home was introduced to Helpster through a site visit by Tionycare Hospital together with a Helpster volunteer, Vincent. Princess remained healthy until three days ago, when she developed a dry cough and sore throat that became painful on swallowing.

Princess, a 6-year-old girl, began experiencing a persistent cough and a sore throat that made her feel weak and uncomfortable. Concerned, her guardians took her to the clinic, where she was diagnosed with a throat infection. The doctor prescribed a combination of medications: Cetirizine to relieve throat irritation and allergy-like symptoms, Brufen to reduce pain and fever, Prednisolone to decrease throat inflammation, and Amoxicillin to treat the bacterial infection. With proper rest, plenty of fluids, and regular medication, Princess gradually began to feel better. Her cough lessened, her throat pain eased, and her energy returned. Within a week, she had fully recovered and was back to her cheerful, playful self.

Princess is responding well to treatment for acute tonsillitis and is expected to make a full recovery. Reason for treatment: If left untreated, acute tonsillitis can lead to complications such as abscess formation, difficulty swallowing, dehydration, or spread of infection. Treating her promptly helped to relieve her pain, prevent worsening of the illness, and avoid potential complications.
