Why is treatment done earlier than admission?
Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background
Champion is a 3-year-old boy, the youngest of five siblings. He enjoys playing hide and seek with the neighbor’s children. He was brought to the facility by his parent with complaints of convulsions, persistent crying, rolling of the eyes, generalized body weakness, and fever. Two days earlier, he had been treated at a general health facility with AL syrup, Amoxicillin, and Paracetamol, but his condition did not improve. On evaluation, he was diagnosed with severe malaria.
Medical history
Champion Kiptoo was admitted for inpatient management of severe malaria and received treatment with artesunate, ceftriaxone, paracetamol (PCM), and Plasil. He underwent laboratory investigations and was closely monitored by the medical team throughout his admission. His condition improved with treatment, and he was discharged on 10 August 2025 in stable condition. He has continued to recover well and is currently stable and doing well.
Outcome
For Champion, early intervention at our facility where he was given appropriate medications significantly improved his chances of full recovery and prevents life-threatening outcomes. Prognosis is good
