Background
Hafsat Abdullahi Usman, a 13-year-old girl, was diagnosed with severe malaria after experiencing high fever, vomiting, weakness, and confusion for four days. She was admitted to General Hospital Nguru on 6th August 2025 and received prompt treatment with IV medications and supportive care. She responded well, recovered fully without complications.
Medical history
Hafsat was admitted in general hospital nguru on 6th August 2025. treated for severe malaria with intravenous artesunate, fluids, antipyretics, and supportive care. She showed steady improvement, with resolution of fever and symptoms by the fourth day. A repeat malaria test confirmed parasite clearance. She was discharged on 12th August 2025 in stable condition on the sixth day with follow-up instructions.thank you helpster charity for the medical treatment and care.
Outcome
The doctor’s prognosis is positive with proper treatment, Hafsat is expected to recover fully and return to normal life. However, if left untreated, severe malaria could have led to serious complications such as cerebral malaria, coma, or even death.
