Dolna Khatun, a caring housewife and mother of a young daughter, is now 34 weeks pregnant but struggling with a serious complication called oligohydramnios, which makes her delivery high-risk. Her husband, Md. Atiqur Rahman, drives an auto-rickshaw and earns only about 10,000 BDT a month, which barely supports their eight-member family, including his parents, two brothers, one sister still in school, and their little daughter. Despite her love for cooking and singing, Dolna faces constant worry, as the family has no savings, no livestock, and only a small piece of land, making it impossible to afford the costly surgery she urgently needs. If she does not receive timely treatment, both her life and her unborn baby’s life are at grave risk from complications such as stillbirth or delivery trauma. The whole family depends on her strength, and without help, their dreams of welcoming a healthy child could turn into heartbreak.

With proper treatment, the risks of birth trauma, cord compression, and stillbirth can be significantly reduced, and the mother can safely overcome the complications of her high-risk pregnancy. However, if left untreated, the baby may suffer from impaired growth, lung underdevelopment, or even life-threatening complications during delivery. For Dolna, delaying intervention could also put her own life at serious risk, making urgent surgical delivery the only safe option for both mother and child.
