Hassana I., 12

Hassana is 12 years old. The mother gave birth to them as twins, She has 8 other siblings, they're all living with their parents. Hassana is in a free government primary school. The father lost his job, the mother is doing her best in terms of doing a petty trading to provide for the family. They live in a 3 rooms apartment, during raining season, they use buckets to prevent water that is dripping down from the roof of the house, the environment is full of grasses and water logged roads. She has been having recurrent fever with associated body rashes. She is not immunized for age. The parents are struggling to feed them as there is also no money to take her to the hospital. Becoming so worried, the mother started asking around and she got to know about Helpster Charity. She reached out and we invited them to WholeCare hospital for proper check up. She was diagnosed with malaria and background measles. Drugs and injections were duly prescribed.

Hassana a 12 year old has been having recurrent fever with associated body rashes. She is not immunized for age. She was admitted at wholecare facility when she was thoroughly evaluated. She was diagnosed with malaria and background measles. Treatment commenced with injection antimalarials, injection antibiotics and other supportive care, a cream for the measles was also provided. Patient did well and stable, no more fever as well as rashes was cleared. She was discharged. Family remained grateful for the support by Helpster Charity and team.

Delayed or untreated cases may progress to severe malaria with complications like cerebral involvement or organ failure. Mortality risk is highest in children, pregnant women, and immunocompromised individuals. Most patients recover completely with supportive care and good nutrition. Severe outcomes can occur in malnourished children, infants, and those lacking vaccination. Complications like pneumonia, encephalitis, or blindness may cause long-term disability or death. Drugs being duly served, outcome is expected to be good for Hassana.
