Airin Akter, a 23-year-old woman, is over 38 weeks pregnant with her second child and is facing a high-risk pregnancy complicated by oligohydramnios, fetal distress, and a history of previous cesarean section. She has been experiencing intermittent abdominal pain and watery discharge, which signal the urgency of her condition. Doctors have advised an immediate cesarean section to save both mother and baby, as attempting a vaginal birth could lead to life-threatening complications. Living in a tin-shed house with her husband, a day laborer earning only 5,000 BDT monthly to support their family of four, Airin and her family are unable to afford the cost of the life-saving surgery.

The patient, Airin Akter was admitted to City Clinic on 17th September 2025. A successful cesarean section was performed the same day, and she delivered a healthy 3.5 kg male baby. Both mother and child progressed well and were discharged on 21th September 2025 with proper postnatal advice. The doctor has emphasized that a timely cesarean section is the only safe option for Airin Akter and her baby, offering the best chance for survival and a healthy outcome. With proper surgical intervention, both mother and child are expected to recover well, avoiding long-term complications. However, if left untreated, the combination of oligohydramnios, fetal distress, and her history of a previous cesarean significantly increases the risk of umbilical cord compression, oxygen deprivation, uterine rupture, and ultimately life-threatening consequences for both. Early surgical delivery will prevent these dangers and ensure the safe birth of her baby while protecting Airin’s health.
