Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Afran Hossain, an 11-year-old bright and gentle boy, loves studying at his Hefz Madrasha and dreams of completing his religious education to support his family. He lives with his parents, two sisters, and little Marium in a small tin-made house, where his father, Iqbal Hossain, earns only 6,000 BDT a month as a day laborer, barely enough to cover food and basic household needs. Recently diagnosed with Retinal Vein Occlusion in both eyes, Afran’s vision is rapidly deteriorating, making it difficult for him to read, study, or continue his lessons. Without urgent treatment, including Anti-VEGF injections and laser therapy, he risks permanent blindness, which would shatter his dreams and independence. His struggling parents are desperately appealing for help to give their son a chance to see again and live a normal, fulfilling life.

Medical history

Afran Hossain, a 11-year-old boy, was experiencing serious vision problems due to retinal complications that required immediate medical intervention. After diagnosis, he received Anti-VEGF injections and PRP laser treatment in both eyes under the expert care of Dr. Md. Saiful Islam, Retina Specialist of the Hospital. These treatments were essential to stop abnormal blood vessel growth and prevent further vision loss. The procedures were carried out successfully and without complications, and Afran responded very well to the treatment. His vision has significantly improved, and he now feels comfortable and can see clearly again. The improvement in his eyesight has helped him regain confidence and continue his studies and daily activities with ease. His family is extremely happy and grateful for the positive outcome. Sincere thanks to Helpster Charity and the Helpster Heroes for their generous support in helping Afran Hossain restore his vision and lead a brighter life.

Outcome

According to Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain, Chief Consultant, and Dr. Md. Saiful Islam, Retina and ROP Specialist at Mazharul Haque BNSB Eye Hospital, Chandpur, Afran needs immediate treatment to save his sight. The doctors recommend urgent Anti-VEGF injections combined with laser therapy after detailed evaluation, which can significantly restore vision and prevent further damage. They believe that with timely intervention, Afran can regain clear vision, continue his education, and lead a normal childhood. However, if left untreated, the prognosis is very poor—Afran may become permanently blind in both eyes, losing all chances of education, independence, and future opportunities. The doctors emphasize that time is critical, and immediate treatment is the only way to give Afran back his childhood and his dreams.
