Baby Viola is the youngest child in her family. She lives with her parents and two siblings in a small two-room mud house. Her mother is unemployed, and the family relies on her father, a casual laborer, as the sole provider. They learned about Helpster Charity from a poster in the local marketplace. As a result, she gained weight upto 1600 g, and she was duly discharged on orals. A call to the mother revealed she was growing as expected and reaching her milestones as expected.

Baby Viola, a newborn diagnosed with premature birth, low birth weight, and respiratory distress syndrome, has been admitted to Siaya County Referral Hospital. The availability of a fully equipped Newborn Unit with incubators provides a favorable environment for specialized care, including thermal regulation, respiratory support, and close monitoring. With prompt and comprehensive neonatal management, the prognosis is cautiously optimistic. The major risks remain complications of prematurity such as persistent breathing difficulties, feeding challenges, and increased susceptibility to infections. However, early intervention with incubator care, oxygen therapy, and nutritional support significantly improves her chances of survival and healthy growth. If her respiratory symptoms are well managed and weight gain is achieved through supportive feeding, Baby Viola has a good likelihood of stabilizing. Continued follow-up and supportive care will be essential in monitoring her growth and developmental milestones
