Joyce S., 14

Joyce Selina is a 14-year-old girl living at a Children’s Home. She is a cheerful and vibrant child who dreams of becoming a teacher in the future. In her free time, she enjoys reading novels, singing, and listening to music. She was adopted by a well-wisher who found her on the streets of Nairobi at a young age and later moved her to the Children’s Home. The home came to know about Helpster Charity through a site visit by Rheemah Hospital health practitioners, together with Vincent, a Helpster volunteer. Recently, Joyce had not been feeling well. She developed painful urination, urethral discharge, itchy eyes, blurred vision, chest pain, and wheezing. According to the Children’s Home volunteer, she was initially given oral medication but showed no improvement, leading to her referral to the hospital. At Rheemah Hospital, she was examined by a medical officer, and prompt treatment was initiated.

Joyce presented with painful urination, pv discharge eye itchiness, blury vision, chest pain and wheezing. The volunteer from the Children's Home says that oral medication was given and their was no improvement, that is when she was brought to the hospital for treatment. She was then seen by medical officer in Rheemah Hospital and diagnosed with Urinary Tract Infection, Atopic conjunctivitis and Acute bronchitis. Prompt treatment began and Diana drastically improved. she was later discharged home 3 days later. A follow up call was made and confirmed that Joyce in doing well and even back to school.

Prompt treatment began and Diana is now doing well and ready to go to school tomorrow. Treatment quickly relieved painful urination and prevented kidney damage, treating atopic conjunctivitis reduced eye redness, itching, and allergic irritation while protecting vision, and treating acute bronchitis eased cough, cleared airway inflammation, and lowered the risk of complications like pneumonia, together improving comfort, normal daily activities, and overall health.
