Miraj Hossain, a cheerful and active 11-year-old boy, lives in a small tin-made house with his parents, younger sister, and grandmother, all surviving on his father’s irregular income of around 8,000 BDT per month. Despite his bright personality and love for football, Miraj has been struggling with persistent swelling and irritation in his right eye, which doctors diagnosed as a Blocked Nasolacrimal Duct requiring urgent Dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) surgery. The 40,500 BDT cost of the procedure is far beyond the family’s means, as they can barely afford food, schooling, and daily necessities. Without treatment, Miraj risks repeated infections, severe pain, and potential vision loss, which would disrupt his education and active childhood. His family anxiously hopes for support to restore their son’s eyesight and allow him to continue learning and playing like other children.

Miraj Hossain, an 11-year-old boy, required DCR surgery in his right eye due to a blocked tear duct that was causing constant watering, irritation, and discomfort. The surgery was performed under anesthesia by Dr. Md. Rashedur Rahman Talukder, Senior Consultant of the Hospital, ensuring a safe and carefully managed procedure. Throughout the treatment process, Miraj was closely monitored by the medical team. The surgery went smoothly, and he responded well during the recovery period. Gradually, the symptoms of excessive tearing and irritation reduced significantly. His visual acuity improved, and he now feels much more comfortable in his daily activities.
