The baby of Mim was delivered after a prolonged and difficult labor, which led to a serious lack of oxygen at birth (perinatal hypoxia). As a result, the baby developed critical health complications and was admitted to the NICU for oxygen support and continuous intensive monitoring. At present, the baby remains in fragile condition under specialized care, while the mother’s health is also unstable and requires hospitalization. Both mother and child urgently need continued medical treatment and support to recover.

The newborn was admitted at Olympus Hospital on 20/09/2025 with delayed cry after birth, severe respiratory distress, and aspiration pneumonia. After evaluation, the baby was diagnosed as a term (38 weeks) infant with AGA (3.1 kg), suffering from perinatal asphyxia (HIE-II), aspiration pneumonia, early-onset neonatal sepsis (EONS), and born to a mother with hepatitis B and HELLP syndrome. The baby received intensive care support in the NICU, including oxygen therapy, antibiotics, and careful monitoring. Gradual improvement was observed, and after stabilization, the baby was shifted to the general bed and later discharged in good condition on 2nd October 2025 with appropriate medical advice. The patient’s guardians expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Helpster Charity, its dedicated volunteers, and the Olympus Hospital team for their compassionate care, tireless efforts, and invaluable support during the baby’s recovery journey.

The doctors believe that with timely NICU care, the baby has a strong chance of recovery despite the complex health challenges. Through oxygen support, broad-spectrum antibiotics, vaccination against hepatitis B, and careful management of sleep apnea and metabolic balance, the immediate risks can be controlled. Chest physiotherapy and parental education will further support the baby’s long-term health and development. However, if left untreated, the baby may face life-threatening infections, brain injury from HIE, or chronic health complications. Early and continuous treatment is therefore essential to give the child a chance at survival and a healthier future.
