Most Shiuly, a calm and thoughtful young woman, lives in a small rented house with her husband, in-laws, and other family members, making a household of seven. Her husband earns only 5,000 BDT a month as a laborer, which is hardly enough to cover rent, food, and daily expenses, leaving no money for urgent medical care. At 37 weeks of pregnancy, Shiuly has been diagnosed with severe oligohydramnios, and her worsening lower abdominal pain signals high risk for both her and her baby. Without timely medical intervention, she could face life-threatening complications, and her unborn child may not survive. Despite these fears, Shiuly holds onto her dream of creating a peaceful and loving home of her own, while her family anxiously hopes for help to save both mother and baby.

Shiuly was admitted on 20.09.2025 due to severe oligohydramnios and intense lower abdominal pain. On the same day, she underwent necessary medical intervention to stabilize her condition and ensure the safety of her baby. The treatment was successful, and her condition improved steadily under close monitoring and supportive care. She was discharged on 23.09.2025, feeling stable and more comfortable. Following the treatment, she is able to rest, move safely, and manage her daily activities with significantly reduced pain, while continuing to prepare for delivery under medical guidance.

With timely medical intervention, including a planned caesarean section, Shiuly’s condition can be stabilized, and the risks to both her and her baby can be significantly reduced. Proper monitoring, supportive care, and delivery at the right time will give her the best chance for a safe outcome and the opportunity to welcome a healthy child. If treated, both mother and baby can avoid many of the complications associated with severe oligohydramnios. However, if left untreated, the lack of amniotic fluid may cause fetal distress, restricted growth, birth trauma, or even stillbirth, while also putting Shiuly’s life in danger. Early and appropriate treatment is therefore critical to protect both lives and ensure a safe delivery.
