Asia Begum, a 25-year-old housewife, lives with her husband Torikul Islam, a daily wage laborer who earns only 9,000 taka per month to support their family of six. Despite their financial struggles, Asia remains hopeful and devoted to her family, dreaming of a happy and healthy life for her children. Now at 39+ weeks of pregnancy, she faces a critical condition—severe oligohydramnios with fetal distress—requiring an immediate caesarean section to save her baby’s life. The family, already burdened by poverty, cannot afford the cost of surgery or hospital care. Without urgent treatment, both mother and child are at serious risk of complications or death, turning a mother’s hope for new life into a heartbreaking tragedy.

After experiencing, passage of gush of water and leaky membrane for 2 days and less fetal movement for 1 day without progressing labour pain, she arrived at our hospital at 1.00PM in 20 September 2025 and doctors performed an ultrasound that revealed amniotic fluid is very low with fetal distress , making vaginal delivery impossible. An emergency cesarean section was promptly arranged, and the procedure was successful, resulting in the birth of a beautiful female baby. Both the mother and the baby are safe and sound, with no complications arising from the surgery. We discharged the patient at 10.30AM in 23 September 2025.The patient's family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Helpster Heroes and the hospital for their timely and effective care.

The doctor's prognosis is that an immediate cesarean section is a crucial, life-saving intervention. The patient's history of premature rupture of membranes, severe oligohydramnios and reduced fetal movement puts both the mother and baby at significant risk. The lack of amniotic fluid can lead to the umbilical cord becoming compressed, which can cut off the baby's oxygen supply and lead to fetal distress, irreversible brain damage, or stillbirth. Without the immediate surgical delivery, the risk of a tragic outcome for the baby is high. The C-section, while a major surgery, offers the best chance to bypass these life-threatening complications and ensure a safe and healthy start to the baby's life.
