Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Background

Melvin and his sibling have been living with their grandparents ever since when they were very young after their mother left to look for a job and never returned. He is a humble and polite boy who enjoys playing basketball and football at school. Melvin is also a dedicated student who dreams of becoming a lawyer in the future. He was brought to the hospital by a Good Samaritan who found him lying by the roadside in severe pain. At the time, he was experiencing a severe headache, vomiting, diarrhea, and high fever. Upon arrival, he was promptly examined, laboratory tests were conducted, and treatment was initiated immediately. After two days of admission, Melvin’s condition has significantly improved—he is now able to sit up, eat, and the vomiting has completely stopped.

Medical history

MELVIN WAS BROUGHT IN WITH SEVERE HEADACHE,DIZZINESS,VOMITING AND DIARRHOEA. HE WAS ADMITTED FOR TWO DAYS, HE HAS IMPROVED THE VOMITING HAS STOPPED AND HAS FULLY RECOVERED.HE HAS NOW BEEN DISCHARGED FROM HOSPITAL HE IS READY TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL TO SIT FOR HIS EXAMINATION.

Outcome

Melvin was diagnosed with malaria and pneumonia and promptly treated. His prognosis is good as he has recovered fully as was confirmed on 27th when he came for review and has gone back to school for his studies.
