Seven-year-old Anha Moni, a bright and gentle girl who loves going to school, is now suffering from severe tonsillitis that has developed into a peri-tonsillar abscess — a serious infection causing intense throat pain and difficulty swallowing. Her family lives in her maternal grandfather’s small house, where he sells handmade furniture to support everyone — barely enough for food and daily needs. Because of their financial hardship, they could not afford the tonsil surgery doctors advised months ago, and now her condition has worsened. Anha struggles to eat, speak, or sleep as the swelling and pain increase each day. Without urgent treatment and surgery, the infection could spread to her neck and chest, putting her young life in grave danger.

Anha Moni, a young girl, was admitted to USB Specialized Hospital on 28th September 2025 with complaints of severe sore throat for eight days, difficulty in swallowing, and fever for five days. After medical evaluation, she was diagnosed with a peri-tonsillar abscess caused by chronic tonsillitis. On 29th September 2025, she underwent a successful surgical drainage and tonsillectomy under expert care. Following the procedure, her symptoms gradually improved—she regained her appetite, her fever subsided, and she began to speak and swallow comfortably. She was discharged in stable condition on 1st October 2025 with medical advice for recovery at home. With timely treatment involving drainage of the abscess and removal of the tonsils under general anesthesia, Anha Moni is expected to make a full recovery and lead a healthy, active life. The surgery will eliminate the source of repeated infections, prevent future abscess formation, and improve her ability to eat, speak, and sleep comfortably. She will also regain her overall strength and concentration, allowing her to return to school and daily activities without frequent illness. If left untreated, however, the infection could spread to nearby tissues or deeper areas of the neck, leading to serious complications such as breathing difficulty or systemic infection, which can be life-threatening.
