Most. Rehana Khatun is a gentle and hopeful 17-year-old housewife who dreams of giving birth to a healthy baby after previously losing a pregnancy, but her family’s extreme poverty makes this difficult. Her husband earns only about 8,000 taka a month as a day laborer, and he must also support his elderly parents and younger brother, leaving almost nothing for medical care. Despite her hardships, Rehana remains dedicated to her family and finds joy in cooking, but her current condition—breech presentation with oligohydramnios at 40 weeks—puts both her and her unborn baby at serious risk. Without urgent treatment, the baby could suffer severe distress or stillbirth, and Rehana herself may face life-threatening complications during delivery. The entire family, already struggling to survive, fears losing another baby and desperately needs support to ensure a safe delivery.

Most Rehana Khatun was admitted to the hospital on September 26, 2025, with a diagnosis of breech presentation and severe oligohydramnios. On the same day, she underwent a successful cesarean section and delivered a healthy baby. After receiving appropriate postnatal care, both mother and newborn recovered well and were discharged in good health on September 30, 2025. A Lower Uterine Cesarean Section (LUCS) is the safest and most effective treatment option for Most. Rehana Khatun, as it can prevent the life-threatening complications associated with breech presentation and oligohydramnios. With timely LUCS, the baby can be delivered safely, reducing the risks of cord prolapse, birth trauma, and fetal distress, while also protecting the mother from dangerous labor complications. This intervention greatly improves the chances of both mother and child experiencing a healthy outcome and avoiding long-term consequences. However, if left untreated, the baby may suffer severe oxygen deprivation, birth injury, or even stillbirth, and Rehana could face emergency surgical risks and life-threatening complications. Immediate planned LUCS is therefore essential to ensure the safety and survival of both mother and baby.
