Nusrat Jahan A., 17

Nusrat, a bright and hardworking 17-year-old girl studying in the second year of Intermediate, dreams of becoming a doctor and regularly helps her mother with household chores while enjoying handicrafts in her free time. She lives with her parents and sister in a crowded rental home, surviving on her father’s modest monthly income of 8,500 BDT, with no permanent home, making it impossible to afford expensive medical care. Recently, Nusrat fell seriously ill with Dengue Fever, experiencing high fever, vomiting, nausea, and severe weakness, putting her health at immediate risk. Her parents could not take her to a tertiary hospital, and without urgent treatment, she could develop life-threatening complications like severe bleeding, organ failure, shock, or neurological problems. Desperate to save their daughter, Nusrat’s family sought care at Narayanganj Poly Clinic and are appealing to Helpster Charity for support to secure the treatment she urgently needs.

Nusrat, a 17 year was suffering from dengue fever. She required emergency hospitalization due to high fever, nausea, vomiting and generalized weakness. She was admitted on 29/09/2025 and was discharged on 04/10/2025. Nusrat was treated conservatively, and thankfully, she is now doing well and back home with a bright smile. With prompt and appropriate medical treatment, including supportive care, hydration, and careful monitoring, Nusrat’s Dengue Fever can be effectively managed, allowing her to recover fully and safely return to her normal activities and studies. Timely intervention will prevent serious complications such as severe bleeding, organ damage, shock, dehydration, or neurological issues like seizures or encephalopathy. Doctors expect that with proper care, Nusrat will make a complete recovery without long-term health consequences. However, if treatment is delayed or not provided, her condition could rapidly deteriorate, becoming life-threatening and potentially resulting in permanent damage or death. Early and proper medical management is therefore critical to safeguarding her life and future.
