Sobita R., 37

Sobita is a warm-hearted 37-year-old woman who loves cooking and caring for her family, but her life has long been overshadowed by poverty. Her husband, Motin, earns only about 10,000 BDT a month as a carpenter, and with house rent and a family of four to support, they struggle to meet even their basic needs. When Sobita developed severe abdominal pain and reduced fetal movement at 36 weeks, the government hospital could not provide emergency care, leaving them terrified and helpless. Without treatment, Sobita risked losing her baby due to the breech presentation, and her own life could have been in danger during labor. Sobita had 36 weeks plus pregnancy. suddenly she complaints of lower abdominal pain. She had also complaints of less foetal movement. Patient got admitted to Narayanganj Poly Clinic. As there was less foetal movement and lower abdominal pain was not progressed patient needed emergency cesarean section. Cesarean section was done successfully under spinal anaesthesia and a healthy male baby was delivered. She was admitted on 1/10/2025 and was discharged on 4/10/2025. After operation conservative treatment was given. Now patient is doing well, she is back to her normal life with smiling face. ‎

A Lower Uterine Cesarean Section (LUCS) is the safest and most effective treatment option for Sobita, as it prevents the serious complications associated with breech presentation and reduced fetal movement. With timely surgery, both mother and baby can be delivered safely, reducing the risks of fetal distress, birth injury, or emergency complications during labor. The procedure will greatly improve the chances of a healthy outcome and protect Sobita’s well-being, allowing her to recover and care for her newborn. However, if left untreated, the baby could suffer oxygen deprivation or stillbirth, and Sobita herself could face life-threatening labor complications. Immediate LUCS is therefore essential for securing the health and survival of both mother and child.
