Maimuna M., 6

Maimuna is a 6 years old girl child living with her parents, she attends a government primary school, father is a commercial motorcycle rider, mother a petty trader. The father has two wives where catering for the family's needs is always challenging. Maimuna has been complaining of headache, fever, abdominal pain for over a week, makes her to cry sometimes. Paracetamol was given by the mother but the pain did not stop ,and they had no money to take her to the hospital. They got news about Helpster Charity and immediately brought Maimuna for proper evaluation Upon presentation at our hospital ,and after further evaluation, she was diagnosed with Malaria + Enteric fever.

Maimuna a 6 years old girl child was brought to Albishir hospital with symptoms of malaria, patient was having high body temperature, she was admitted and diagnosed with Malaria and enteric fever. Treatment commenced with injection antimalarials, injection antibiotics and other supportive care. Patient did well, she became stable and was discharged with take home orals and was scheduled for follow-up. The family are very grateful to Helpster team for saving their daughter's life.

With timely diagnosis and proper treatment, the prognosis for malaria and enteric fever is generally good. Most patients recover completely with antimalarial and antibiotic therapy. However, delayed or inadequate treatment may lead to complications such as severe anemia, dehydration, intestinal perforation, or relapse, especially in children and immunocompromised individuals. Early medical attention and good nutrition improve recovery outcomes significantly.
