Aliyu A., 10

Aliyu is a 10 years old living with his parents, he is the 3rd child among 6 children, currently in a government nursery and primary school. Aliyu has been having fever, vomiting, severe headache and general body pain and weakness, his body temperature is high. No money to take him to the hospital, he was given paracetamol to take but no improvement with his health condition. He was brought to Albishir clinic for medical support by Helpster Charity. Upon presentation at our hospital, and after further evaluation, he was diagnosed with Malaria + Enteric fever.

Aliyu a 10 years old boy was brought to Albishir clinic with symptoms of malaria, patient was looking very weak. He was admitted and diagnosed with Malaria and enteric fever. Treatment commenced with injection antimalarials, injection antibiotics and other supportive care. Patient did well, he became stable and was discharged with some take home orals and was scheduled for follow-up. They left smiling and rejoicing for the support from Helpster Charity team.

With early diagnosis and proper treatment, malaria and enteric fever have a good prognosis. Most patients recover fully with antimalarial and antibiotic therapy, adequate hydration, and rest. However, delayed or incomplete treatment can lead to complications such as severe anemia, dehydration, intestinal perforation, or prolonged weakness. Timely medical care and follow-up greatly improve recovery outcomes.
