Abdullahi Y., 12

Abdullahi who is 12 years old is a male child living with his parents ,he attends a government primary school where dreams of becoming a business owner for instance a company. The father is a small scale farmer and the mother is a petty trader all in an effort to send their children to school, they sometimes struggle to feed. Abdullahi has been having severe headache, fever and poor appetite for 3 days, he was given paracetamol but symptom continued and the family had no money to take him to the hospital. They got news about Helpster Charity from a neighbor and they brought the child to Albishir Clinic and Maternity for proper evaluation. On presentation at our hospital, and after further evaluation ,he was diagnosed with Malaria and Enteric fever.

Abdullahi was brought to Albishir clinic with high body temperature and high grade fever with associated headache. He was diagnosed with malaria and enteric fever. Treatment commenced with injection antimalarials, injection antibiotics and other supportive care. He did well, became stable, temperature became normal and he was discharged with some take home orals and was scheduled for follow-up.

With timely and appropriate treatment, recovery from malaria and enteric fever is usually good. Most patients regain full health within 1–2 weeks. However, delayed or inadequate treatment may lead to complications such as severe anemia, dehydration, or intestinal perforation. Early medical attention ensures a favorable outcome.
