Yusuf A., 14

Yusuf is a 14 years old male child currently living with his parents. He attends a government primary school, he has 5 siblings, the father is a laborer and the mother is a house wife, they live in an apartment owned by them having 3 rooms and single toilet. He presented with fever, severe headache, catarrh vomiting, cough and watery stool. Drugs was bought from the chemist to reduce pains but no positive in health condition and parents are not able to take him to the hospital because of lack of funds. They heard about Helpster charity through a recent outreach, they brought the child to Albishir hospital for proper evaluation. Upon presentation at our hospital, and after further evaluation, Yusuf was diagnosed with malaria, enteric fever and respiratory tract infection.

Yusuf a 14 years old male child presented with symptoms of malaria, patient looks febrile. He was admitted and diagnosed with Malaria, enteric fever and respiratory tract infection. Treatment commenced with injection antibiotics, injection antimalarials and other supportive care were given. Patient was stable, he was discharged with some take home orals and was scheduled for follow-up. Family extends gratitude to Helpster Charity for their support

The prognosis of malaria, enteric fever, and respiratory tract infection (RTI) is generally good with early diagnosis and appropriate treatment. Most patients recover fully when given effective antimalarials for malaria, suitable antibiotics for enteric fever and RTI, along with proper supportive care. However, delays or inadequate treatment can lead to serious complications—such as cerebral malaria, intestinal perforation, or respiratory failure—especially in children, the elderly, and those with weak immunity. With prompt medical attention, recovery is usually complete and outcomes are favorable.
