Md. Anik Ahmed, an 18-year-old boy from a small riverside village in Kurigram, is known for his kind heart, bright smile, and unwavering determination. After losing his father early in life, he was raised by his widowed mother, who works tirelessly to provide for him despite their poverty. When Anik suffered a severe knee injury while playing football, his family was devastated — they could barely afford daily expenses, let alone the costly surgery he needed. Without treatment, doctors warned that his ACL, meniscus, and LCL injuries could lead to permanent disability, ending his ability to walk properly or continue his studies. Thanks to timely intervention, Anik underwent ACL reconstruction at Olympus Hospital and is now slowly regaining strength through medication and physiotherapy, filled with hope to rebuild his future and support his loving mother.

Md. Anik Ahmed, an 18-year-old boy from Kurigram, was admitted to Olympus Hospital on 08 October 2025 with severe pain and swelling in his left knee after a football injury. He was diagnosed with a complete ACL tear with medial meniscus and Grade-I LCL injury. Under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Md. Shaeb Sarwar Murad, Anik underwent successful ACL reconstruction surgery on 10 October 2025. His recovery progressed well with medication and rest, and he was discharged on 12 October 2025 in stable condition. With proper physiotherapy and follow-up, Anik is expected to regain full strength and return to his normal activities soon.

The orthopedic specialists at Olympus Hospital, Dhaka, believe that ACL reconstruction surgery using a hamstring autograft will restore stability to Anik’s right knee and allow him to regain normal movement and strength. With proper physiotherapy and rehabilitation, he has an excellent chance of returning to his studies, daily activities, and even the sports he once loved. The doctors emphasize that timely surgery is crucial — delaying it could lead to chronic pain, repeated knee instability, and permanent joint damage. If left untreated, Anik may lose full use of his leg and face lifelong mobility challenges. With successful treatment, however, he can look forward to a pain-free, active, and independent life once again.
