Nazma Akter, a gentle and optimistic 19-year-old housewife, lives with her young husband Billal, a rickshaw driver earning only 9,000 taka a month, along with her in-laws and little brother-in-law in a small household. Despite their financial struggles, Nazma dreams of a peaceful life and a healthy baby, finding joy in cooking and caring for her family. At 38 weeks of pregnancy, she developed severe oligohydramnios with fetal distress following continuous fluid leakage and reduced fetal movement, requiring an emergency cesarean section. However, the family’s meager income barely covers food and rent, making it impossible to afford the surgery. Without immediate treatment, both Nazma and her unborn baby face serious, life-threatening complications, leaving the family in deep fear and desperation.

After experiencing, passage of gush of water and leaky membrane for 2 days and less fetal movement for 1 day without progressing labour pain, she arrived at our hospital at 1.00PM in 03 october 2025 and doctors performed an ultrasound that revealed amniotic fluid is very low with fetal distress , making vaginal delivery impossible. An emergency cesarean section was promptly arranged, and the procedure was successful, resulting in the birth of a beautiful male baby. Both the mother and the baby are safe and sound, with no complications arising from the surgery. We discharged the patient at 10.30AM in 06 October 2025.The patient's family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Helpster Heroes and the hospital for their timely and effective care.

The doctor's prognosis is that an immediate cesarean section is a crucial, life-saving intervention. The patient's history of premature rupture of membranes, severe oligohydramnios and reduced fetal movement puts both the mother and baby at significant risk. The lack of amniotic fluid can lead to the umbilical cord becoming compressed, which can cut off the baby's oxygen supply and lead to fetal distress, irreversible brain damage, or stillbirth. Without the immediate surgical delivery, the risk of a tragic outcome for the baby is high. The C-section, while a major surgery, offers the best chance to bypass these life-threatening complications and ensure a safe and healthy start to the baby's life.
