Maria Aktar, an 18-year-old gentle and hopeful young woman, lives with her husband Tamin and his family in a small home where every day is a struggle to make ends meet. Her husband earns only 8,000 taka per month as a day laborer, barely enough to feed the five family members, leaving them unable to afford emergency medical care. When Maria went into labor at home, the pain continued for more than 10 hours without progress, and at the hospital, doctors discovered that the baby was in a breech position, making normal delivery impossible. Despite her calm and courageous spirit, Maria’s life and her baby’s are now at serious risk without an immediate cesarean section. Without treatment, she could face prolonged labor complications, severe bleeding, or even death, while the baby could suffer asphyxia or stillbirth—a tragedy this young, loving couple desperately hopes to prevent.

After experiencing labour pain for 10hrs at 36+ weeks of gestation, the patient presented to our hospital at 6:00 PM on 7th October 2025. Upon admission, a thorough clinical examination and ultrasonography were conducted, which revealed a breech presentation, making vaginal delivery impossible. An emergency cesarean section was promptly arranged and successfully performed, resulting in the birth of a healthy female baby. Both the mother and the baby remained stable postoperatively, with no complications observed. The patient was discharged at 11:40 AM on 10th October 2025. The patient's family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Helpster Heroes and the hospital for their timely and effective care.

The doctor has recommended a Lower Uterine Cesarean Section (LUCS) as the safest option for Maria Akter due to her breech presentation and persistent lower abdominal pain. This procedure will help deliver the baby safely, preventing complications such as fetal distress, birth injury, or uterine rupture that could occur during a normal delivery. With timely surgical intervention, both mother and child are expected to recover well and lead healthy lives. However, if left untreated, the condition could result in severe complications, including stillbirth or life-threatening bleeding for the mother. LUCS is therefore a life-saving intervention that ensures the best possible outcome for both.
