Mst. Mitu Khatun, a gentle 17-year-old housewife who loves cooking, lives with her young husband Jahangir Alom, a day laborer earning only 6,000 taka per month, and her elderly mother-in-law Rabaya Begum, who cannot work. Their small income barely covers food and daily survival, leaving them with no means to afford urgent medical care. When Mitu began suffering from watery discharge and severe abdominal pain, an ultrasound revealed a high-risk pregnancy with breech presentation and severe oligohydramnios, placing both her and her unborn child in danger. Doctors explained that without an urgent LUCS delivery, her baby could suffer distress or life-threatening complications, and Mitu herself would also be at serious risk. Despite their fears and financial hardship, the family desperately hopes for help so Mitu can safely deliver the healthy baby she dreams of.

Sumaiya Akter Sumi was admitted to the hospital on October 11, 2025, with a diagnosis of breech presentation and severe oligohydramnios. Following medical evaluation, she underwent a successful cesarean section on the same day, resulting in the safe delivery of a healthy baby. Both mother and newborn responded well to treatment and care. They were discharged in good health on October 16, 2025. Sumaiya’s husband was present to receive his wife and newborn upon discharge. The doctors have advised LUCS (Lower Uterine Cesarean Section) as the safest treatment option for Mst. Mitu Khatun, given the breech position and extremely low amniotic fluid. They explain that a timely LUCS will greatly reduce risks during delivery and protect both the mother and the baby from potentially life-threatening complications. With this intervention, her baby is expected to be delivered safely, avoiding the dangers of distress, injury, or oxygen deprivation that can occur in complicated normal births. However, if left untreated and the pregnancy continues without a planned LUCS, both mother and child face a high risk of complications such as birth trauma, fetal distress, or even stillbirth. Early surgical delivery is therefore crucial to ensuring a healthy outcome for both.
