Muhammed is a 6 year old primary school attendant currently staying with his parents in a polygamous setting. He has 8 siblings, he wishes to be an engineer in the future, he wants to know everything about aeroplanes. The father is a security guard, the mother is a petty trader. Muhammed presented with the complaints of severe fever with chills and rigor. Facial swelling, yellowish discoloration of the sclera and urine and associated abdominal distention were other complaints he had. Muhammad Abubakar, 6 years old boy was well until 5 days ago when he started having fever which became worse with chills and rigor. On presentation at our hospital, and after further evaluation, Diagnosis of Severe Malaria and Enteritis fever were made. The parents cannot afford the child's medical bills this made them seek for help from Helpster Charity.

Muhammed a 6year old boy presented to our facility with complaints of severe fever, high body temperature. Facial swelling, yellowish discoloration of the sclera and urine and associated abdominal distention were other complaints he had. On clinical evaluation and examination he was diagnosed with severe malaria fever and enteritis. He was admitted in our ward and treatment commenced with injection antimalarial, injection antibiotics as well was other supportive care. Patient became stable after the 3rd day of thorough medication, temperature check looks normal, urine colour and jaundice becomes cleared and patient continues feeding well. Family are so happy for the medical help given by Helpster Charity and team.

The prognosis of severe malaria with enteric fever is guarded and depends heavily on early recognition and aggressive treatment. When promptly treated with IV antimalarials, effective antibiotics, and careful fluid and electrolyte management, many patients recover well. However, the combination significantly increases the risk of complications such as severe anemia, septic shock, hepatic dysfunction, altered consciousness, and gastrointestinal perforation. Delayed presentation, high parasite load, drug-resistant Salmonella, or poor nutritional status worsens outcomes. Children and immunocompromised patients are especially vulnerable. With timely hospital care and close monitoring, survival improves, though recovery may be prolonged and requires follow-up.
