Habib, a gentle and kind 14-year-old boy, is deeply loved by his family for his calm nature and respectful behavior. His father, a poor day laborer, struggles to provide for the family with a small and uncertain income, barely enough for food and school expenses. Despite his love for fishing and his dream of building a safe home for his family, Habib’s health has been weakened by chronic tonsillitis, which causes constant throat pain, fever, and difficulty swallowing. Doctors have advised surgery, but the family’s poverty makes it impossible to afford the treatment. Without it, Habib’s condition may worsen, leading to severe infections, long-term weakness, and the heartbreaking loss of his bright hopes for the future.

Habib was admitted to the hospital on 24.09.2025 with complaints of recurrent sore throat, pain, and difficulty swallowing caused by enlarged tonsils. After necessary evaluations and preparation, a tonsillectomy was performed successfully on the same day. The operation went smoothly without any complications. Following the surgery, Habib was kept under close observation and provided with proper post-operative care, including pain management, antibiotics, and a soft diet to aid recovery. His condition gradually improved, and he experienced significant relief from throat pain and swelling. By the time of discharge on 27.09.2025, Habib was stable, cheerful, and recovering well, with advice for rest, continued medication, and regular follow-up to ensure complete healing.

The doctor has recommended abscess drainage followed by tonsillectomy under general anesthesia (GA) as the best treatment option. This procedure will remove the infected abscess and the chronically diseased tonsils, allowing the patient to breathe, eat, and sleep comfortably again without recurrent throat infections or fever. After recovery, the child is expected to regain full health, energy, and the ability to attend school regularly. However, if left untreated, the infection could spread to nearby tissues or the bloodstream, leading to serious complications such as airway obstruction or sepsis, which can be life-threatening. Timely surgery is therefore essential to ensure the child’s safety and long-term well-being.
