Jannat Akter, a 5-year-old girl, lives with her parents and one sibling in a modest home. Her father, Md. Jahangira, works as a rickshaw puller, and her mother, Shima Aklar, takes care of the family. For the past year, Jannat has suffered from recurrent tonsillitis, causing throat pain, fever, and difficulty eating and sleeping. Doctors advised surgery, but due to the family’s low income and inability to afford treatment, it could not be done. Without proper medical care, her condition may worsen, leading to chronic infections and breathing problems.

Jannat Akter, a 5-year-old girl from Sengariya, Soriatpur, had been suffering from a sore throat and recurrent fever for about a year. Due to her family’s poor financial condition, her parents initially sought treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital but were unable to secure a seat. With the support of Helpster Charity, Jannat was admitted to Olympus Hospital (Pvt.) Ltd. on 14th October 2025 at 12:38 PM. After evaluation by Dr. Ibrahim Khalil Ullah, she was diagnosed with Adenotonsillitis and underwent Adenotonsillectomy surgery on 15th October 2025 at 6:30 PM. The surgery was successful, and she received medications including Axim CV, Famotack, Flamex, Fexo, and Voltalin, along with post-operative advice for rest and mouthwash care. Jannat responded well to treatment and was discharged on 17th October 2025 at 1:35 PM, fully stable and cheerful, marking a successful recovery and a hopeful return to her normal childhood activities.

Doctors have recommended that Jannat Akter undergo an adenotonsillectomy under general anesthesia, which is expected to greatly improve her breathing, sleep quality, and overall health. After surgery, she will likely experience fewer throat infections, better appetite, and improved growth and energy levels. The procedure will also help her eat, speak, and sleep more comfortably, allowing her to resume normal childhood activities. However, if left untreated, her adenotonsillitis may continue to cause frequent infections, breathing difficulties, and poor sleep, which can hinder her physical development and learning. Early surgical intervention offers the best chance for a healthy and active life.
