Most Firoja Begum, a 40-year-old devoted mother and housewife, has always cared deeply for her family despite living in poverty. Her husband, Md. Jahidul Islam, works as a tailor’s assistant, earning only about 7,000 taka a month — barely enough to cover food, rent, and school expenses for their two children, Firoj and Sumaiya. Now, at 36 weeks pregnant with her fifth child, Firoja is facing a dangerous breech presentation and needs an urgent LUCS surgery to safely deliver her baby. However, with no savings or support, the family is unable to bear the cost of the operation. Without timely treatment, both Firoja’s and her unborn baby’s lives are at grave risk, turning their dream of welcoming a new life into a heartbreaking tragedy.

Most Firoja Begum was admitted to the hospital on October 17, 2025, with a diagnosis of Breech presentation. On the same day, she had a successful cesarean section and gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Both mother and newborn were discharged on October 21, 2025, in good health. The doctor has recommended Lower Uterine Segment Cesarean Section (LUCS) as the safest option for Firoja Begum’s delivery. Successful surgery will help prevent complications such as birth trauma, prolonged labor, or fetal distress, ensuring the baby’s healthy arrival. However, if left untreated or if normal delivery is attempted, there is a serious danger of fetal asphyxia, uterine rupture, or even maternal and neonatal death. Timely LUCS is therefore crucial to protect both Firoja’s life and her baby’s future.
