Hassan is an 8 months old child a twin, identical to be specific, they're the 4th children among 5 children. The father is a domestic farmer and the mother is a house wife, they own their apartment where they have 3 rooms and a single toilet. Patient is a twin that presented with history of severe fever, cough and respiratory difficulty of five days. They were very worried on how to treat the children as there is no money to take them to the hospital, However Helpster volunteers are also trying to seek those in dire need of help when we got in contact with this parent. They were invited to Albishir Clinic for proper evaluation. Upon presentation at our hospital and after proper evaluation, a diagnosis of lower respiratory tract infection was made.

Hassan is an 8 months old twin that presented with history of severe fever, cough and respiratory difficulty of five days. Examination shows dyspnic child with SPO2 of 87%, temperature of 39.3 oC respiratory rate of 72cpm and crepitations on the lung fields. He was admitted and diagnosed with lower respiratory tract infection. Treatment commenced with antibiotics and other supportive care and breathing therapy, after few days patient was noticed to breath well, no more coughing. He did well after the remaining days and was discharged with some take home orals. He was scheduled for follow-up. Mother is so happy for the offer of help from Helpster Charity team.

The prognosis of Lower Respiratory Tract Infection (LRTI) is favorable with prompt and appropriate treatment. Most patients recover completely without complications, especially when diagnosed early. However, in infants, the elderly, or those with weak immunity, delayed or inadequate treatment can lead to severe outcomes such as pneumonia, respiratory failure, or sepsis. With proper medical care and supportive management, recovery is usually rapid and complete.
