Habiba Akter is a kind and responsible woman known for her warmth and dedication to her family. She lives with her husband, a carpenter earning only 5,000 taka a month, their young child, and her elderly parents in a government housing area. Despite financial hardship, Habiba remains hopeful and dreams of starting a small food business to support her family. Now in her 36th week of pregnancy, she has been diagnosed with oligohydramnios, a condition that poses serious risks to both her and her unborn child. Without timely medical intervention, her baby could face distress or loss, and her own health may be in danger — yet her family cannot afford the urgent treatment required.

Habiba came to the hospital with severe abdominal pain, low fetal movement, abdominal discomfort, and hardening of the lower abdomen. After medical evaluation, she was diagnosed with a 36 weeks and 6 days pregnancy with cephalic presentation and oligohydramnios. She was admitted on 04.10.2025, and a lower uterine cesarean section (LUCS) was performed on the same day. The operation was successful, and both Habiba and her baby were found to be well and healthy after the procedure. She received proper postoperative care, medication, and monitoring during her hospital stay. Following steady improvement and good recovery, Habiba was discharged on 07.10.2025 in stable condition, with advice for rest, proper nutrition, and regular follow-up for continued well-being.

Habiba’s condition requires timely medical intervention due to the presence of oligohydramnios at an advanced stage of pregnancy. If a lower uterine cesarean section (LUCS) is not performed during labor, the fetus may fail to progress because of the lack of sufficient amniotic fluid, leading to obstruction and the risk of intrauterine fetal death (IUFD). Prompt surgical delivery is therefore essential to prevent complications and ensure the baby’s safety. If LUCS is performed on time, the baby will have the chance to survive and begin a healthy new life, while the mother’s health will also be safeguarded from potential labor-related risks.
