Rina Begum, a 33-year-old mother living with her husband Md. Shahed, their young child, and elderly in-law, presented at 33 weeks and 2 days of gestation with severe lower abdominal pain for two days and reduced fetal movements for one day. She is 33 weeks pregnant with her second child; her first delivery was by caesarean section. An ultrasound revealed oligohydramnios with decreased fetal movement, and the obstetrician advised an immediate caesarean section to save the baby. The family cannot afford the surgery, as Shahed’s income of 6,000 taka per month barely covers daily living expenses. They learned about Helpster Charity through a leaflet and hope to receive support to prevent a potentially life-threatening outcome for both mother and child.

Rina was admitted to the hospital on 29.09.2025 due to severe abdominal pain, low fetal movement, and complications from oligohydramnios. An immediate lower uterine cesarean section (LUCS) was performed to ensure the safety of both her and her baby. The operation was successful, and both Rina and her baby were found to be healthy and stable after the procedure. During her hospital stay, she received proper postoperative care, monitoring, and support, which helped her recover steadily. After showing significant improvement and regaining strength, Rina was discharged on 02.10.2025 in stable condition, with advice for rest, proper nutrition, and regular follow-up to maintain her health and ensure continued well-being for both mother and baby.

Rina requires a lower uterine cesarean section (LUCS) to safely deliver her baby due to oligohydramnios and the advanced stage of her pregnancy. If the LUCS is not performed, the baby may face difficulty progressing during labor, leading to obstruction, fetal distress, or even intrauterine fetal death. Timely surgical intervention is essential to ensure the baby’s survival and protect the mother from labor-related complications. With a planned LUCS, the risks are significantly reduced, allowing both Rina and her baby to recover safely and begin a healthy postnatal life.
