Mustapha a 15-year-old boy from poor home who was the 4th child of family of six.His father is a bricklayer and his mom makes hat and sale to support the family's financial needs. The patient presented with a 5-day history of right iliac fossa pain, fever, and vomiting, which temporarily subsided after taking medication at another facility. However, the symptoms reoccurred again. He was brought to our facility early Tuesday morning with severe right iliac fossa pain, fever, and vomiting. Upon presentation at our hospital and after further evaluation, he was diagnosed with Acute Appendicitis and requires urgent surgery to avoid perforation.

Mustapha is a 15-year-old boy presented with a sudden onset of right lower abdominal pain, nausea, accompanied by vomiting, fever and he became very uncomfortable for the past 2 days. After thorough evaluation and investigation, he was diagnosed with Acute Appendicitis. He underwent successful appendectomy surgery without immediate complications. Due to the nature of his condition, he was admitted for 3 days for close monitoring and post-operative care. He recovered well and was discharged home after 3 days, with a fellow-up appointment scheduled for 1 week. Currently, he is doing well have fully recovered, and have resumed his regular activities. PROGNOSIS Early diagnosis and treatment of acute appendicitis generally have a good prognosis. In Mustapha’s critical situation, surgery to remove the inflamed appendix is the best course of action. With surgery, his life will improve as he'll no longer experience pain, fever, vomiting, and other associated complications such as perforation(rupture),peritonitis,bowel obstruction,abscess formation will be averted.
