A 10-year-old son of a pensioner was brought into this facility. He is introverted and he likes music and dancing, and he have dream to become an accountant in the future. Family income is 15,000 Naira monthly. About 10 months ago he started experiencing right loin pain, lower back pain and dysuria. He was presented to different health facilities and was diagnosed of right kidney stone but didn't have enough money to pay for the medical bills. On presentation to our hospital, he was evaluated and confirmed to have Right Kidney Stone, he requires urgent surgery.

Rabiu Umar, a 10-year-old male, was referred to our facility with a kidney stone. After thorough evaluation and investigation, he underwent elective nephrolithotomy. The surgery was successful without immediate complications. Due to the nature of his condition, he was admitted for 5 days for close monitoring and treatment. The patient recovered well and was discharged home after 5 days, with follow-up care scheduled for 1 week. Currently, the patient is doing well, has recovered, and has resumed regular activities at home.

Larger stones might require more extensive treatment like using sound waves to break up the stone (lithotripsy), surgery to remove very large stones, or using a scope passed through the bladder to remove smaller stones. Kidney stones can cause excruciating pain as they move through the urinary tract. If left untreated, the stone may continue to pass or become lodged in a position that causes persistent, severe pain.
