Mst. Zinat Akter, a gentle and caring mother of two, lives with her husband, children, and elderly in-laws in a small household that survives on her husband’s modest earning of only 6,000 Taka a month. When she suddenly began leaking fluid continuously for three days and felt her baby moving less, the family rushed her to the hospital, fearing something was terribly wrong. The ultrasound revealed severe oligohydramnios, a dangerous condition that can quickly threaten the baby’s life, especially since she previously had two C-sections. With their extremely limited income and many family members to support, they cannot afford the urgent surgery she needs. Without this life-saving treatment, the unborn child could suffer severe distress or even death, leaving the family heartbroken and Zinat at serious risk—yet she remains hopeful, dreaming of a safe delivery and a better future for her children.

Mst. Zinat was admitted to the hospital on 15.10.2025 with a diagnosis of severe oligohydramnios. Upon evaluation, performed an emergency cesarean section on the same day to prevent further complications and ensure the safety of both mother and baby. The operation was carried out successfully. Following the surgery, She received proper medical management, including necessary medications, monitoring, and supportive care. She also received attentive nursing care, which played a vital role in her smooth recovery. Both mother and baby responded well to treatment. After a steady recovery, they were found to be in good health, and Mst. Zinat was discharged on 18.10.2025 in stable condition.

The recommended treatment for this case is a Lower Uterine Cesarean Section (LUCS), which is the safest option to deliver the baby immediately and prevent further complications. This procedure will help relieve fetal distress and reduce the risks associated with severe oligohydramnios, ensuring the best possible outcome for both the mother and the baby. With timely surgery, the baby is expected to recover well and lead a healthy life. However, if the delivery is delayed or left untreated, the baby may suffer from severe oxygen deprivation, leading to permanent brain damage or even death, and the mother may also face life-threatening infections or complications.
