Mst. Sumi Begum is a 19-year-old housewife from a low-income family, married to Md. Rubel Ahmed, a day laborer with a monthly income of approximately 8,000 taka, which must support five family members including her elderly parents-in-law and an 11-year-old sister-in-law. Due to severe financial constraints and absence of savings, the family is unable to bear the cost of urgent obstetric care. She is a responsible and cooperative patient, currently at 38 weeks of gestation, who presented with per vaginal watery discharge, lower abdominal pain, and reduced fetal movement, and was diagnosed with oligohydramnios at Jamuna Clinic. The patient’s condition carries a significant risk of fetal distress and adverse maternal and neonatal outcomes if timely medical intervention is not provided. The family became aware of Helpster charity through an employee of Jamuna Clinic and subsequently contacted Helpster volunteer Bablu Abdullah to seek financial support for her treatment.

Most Sumi Begum was admitted to the hospital on November 07, 2025, with a diagnosis of severe oligohydramnios. On the same day, she had a successful cesarean section and gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Both mother and newborn were discharged on November 11, 2025, in good health. Her husband came to the hospital to receive her and their child. The family expressed their gratitude to Helpster, Jamuna Clinic and Bablu Abdullah for their treatment and support. Her husband was especially thankful for the financial assistance provided by Helpster.

The doctor recommends an urgent cesarean section for Mst Sumi Begum to prevent life-threatening complications for both her and her baby. With severe oligohydramnios could result in fetal distress, stillbirth, or serious maternal complications such as uterine rupture or placental issues. A timely C-section offers the best chance of delivering a healthy baby and protecting the mother’s life.
