Jahanara Khatun is a caring and resilient 29-year-old housewife living with her husband Md. Shalom Mia and her mother-in-law, surviving on a fragile monthly income of only 5,000 taka earned through day labor. Despite years of hardship, past pregnancy losses, and living apart from her children who stay with their grandfather, she remains hopeful and looks forward to safely welcoming her third child. Now at 38 weeks of pregnancy, Jahanara has been suffering from persistent lower abdominal pain, reduced fetal movement, and frequent urination—danger signs that demand urgent medical attention. With no savings and daily expenses already overwhelming the family, they are unable to afford the cost of necessary treatment or possible surgery. Without timely care, both mother and baby face serious risks such as fetal distress, infection, or even loss of life, which could shatter the family’s last hope.

Jahanara Khatun was admitted to the hospital on November 06, 2025, with a diagnosis of severe oligohydramnios and Fetal distress. On the same day, she had a successful cesarean section and gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Both mother and newborn were discharged on November 10, 2025, in good health. Doctors have advised that a Lower Uterine Cesarean Section (LUCS) is the safest and most appropriate treatment to ensure the survival and well-being of both the mother and the baby. With timely LUCS, the baby can be delivered safely, preventing complications such as fetal distress, birth injury, or oxygen deprivation, and allowing the mother to recover under proper medical care. This procedure significantly reduces the risk of life-threatening emergencies that could arise during prolonged or obstructed labor. If the pregnancy is left untreated and LUCS is not performed when needed, both mother and child face a high risk of severe complications, including infection, internal bleeding, stillbirth, or even maternal death. Early intervention through LUCS offers the best chance for a healthy outcome and a safe future for both lives.
