Sharmin Akter, a gentle and devoted 27-year-old mother, has always put her family first despite living in deep poverty with her husband, Shafiqul Islam, who earns only 6,000 taka a month as an agricultural day laborer. Their small three-member family struggles just to afford food and schooling for their 8-year-old son, Shimul, leaving no savings for unexpected medical emergencies. Now, with Sharmin’s pregnancy complicated by breech presentation and anemia, the family is terrified because they cannot afford the urgent treatment she needs. Without proper medical care, both Sharmin and her unborn baby face life-threatening risks during delivery. Their only hope lies in receiving timely support, as their limited income cannot cover the cost of saving a mother and child.

Sharmin Akter was admitted to Life Care Hospital and Diagnostic Center on 13/11/2025 for delivery and underwent a lower uterine cesarean section (LUCS) on the same day under spinal anesthesia. The surgery was successfully performed by an experienced medical team, followed by appropriate post-operative care including medications, antibiotics, and regular monitoring. Her recovery was smooth, and both mother and newborn remained stable without complications during the hospital stay. She was discharged on 15/11/2025 in good condition with necessary advice and medications. Sharmin Akter expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Helpster Charity, its dedicated volunteers, and the hospital team for their continuous support and compassionate care.

The doctor has explained that with timely medical care, including a planned cesarean section, both Sharmin and her baby have a high chance of a safe delivery and good health. Proper management of her breech presentation and anemia can minimize risks such as fetal distress, difficult labor, excessive bleeding, or complications during delivery. However, if left untreated or if a normal delivery is attempted, it could lead to serious, potentially life-threatening complications for both mother and baby.
