Fatema Khatun is a gentle 23-year-old housewife who lives with her husband Md. Shafiqul Islam, a day laborer, their young son Abdullah, and her elderly in-laws in a five-member family surviving on a monthly income of only 9,000 taka. She enjoys cooking and dreams of safely welcoming a healthy baby, but the family is still burdened by debt from her previous caesarean delivery, which was managed by borrowing money from a neighbor. Now at 37 weeks of her third pregnancy, she developed lower abdominal pain and watery discharge, and medical examination revealed a serious condition requiring urgent care. With her husband’s unstable income and no savings, the family cannot afford the cost of treatment. Without timely medical intervention, Fatema and her unborn baby face serious, life-threatening risks, which is why, after learning about Helpster from another patient and contacting volunteer Bablu Abdullah, the family is seeking urgent support.

Fatema Khatun was admitted to the hospital on November 21 , 2025, with a diagnosis of Oligohydramnios and previous C-section. On the same day, she had a successful cesarean section and gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Both mother and newborn were discharged on November 25, 2025, in good health. Her mother and mother in law came to the hospital to receive her and their child. The doctor recommends an urgent cesarean section for Fatema Khatun to prevent life-threatening complications for both her and her baby. With severe oligohydramnios could result in fetal distress, stillbirth, or serious maternal complications such as uterine rupture or placental issues. A timely C-section offers the best chance of delivering a healthy baby and protecting the mother’s life. If the procedure is performed promptly Fatema and her child are expected to recover well, with significantly reduced risks of morbidity or mortality. Without this intervention, both mother and baby face a critical situation that could have irreversible consequences.
