Umar Mohd Abubakar is an 11-year-old boy from a humble and supportive family. He is an active primary school pupil who enjoys playing football with his friends and helping his mother with small errands at home. He has been healthy with no chronic illnesses and no previous hospital admissions or surgeries. His parents describe him as a lively and responsible boy who rarely falls sick and is usually full of energy. Everything was going on fine until he was hit by a moving tricycle while playing near a roadside. Had severe abdominal pain following the blunt trauma to his abdomen and over the next 48hours, the pain progressively worsened and became generalized with attendant anorexia, vomiting and inability to stand upright due to discomfort. He did not present at the hospital until 72hours after the accident. Abdominal ultrasound confirmed suspected blood in the peritoneum secondary to blunt abdominal trauma. After comprehensive evaluation, a diagnosis of acute abdomen secondary to blunt abdominal injury was made. For urgent exploration, to identify and repair internal injuries. UMAR,An 11 year-old old boy, presented with a history of sustained blunt trauma to the abdomen after being hit by a moving tricycle.Initial mild pain progressed to severe generalized abdominal pain accompanied by vomiting, abdominal distension and inability to tolerate oral feed for the past 24 hours.After thorough evaluation and investigation, he was diagnosed with Acute abdomen. He underwent successful Ex.Lap surgery without immediate complications. Due to the nature of his condition, he was admitted for 3 days for close monitoring and post-operative care.He recovered well and was discharged home after 3 days, with a follow-up appointment scheduled for 1 week. Umar suffered an internal abdominal injury after being hit by a moving tricycle on the roadside, but without obvious symptoms until 48 hours after the incident, he might possibly have a multiple organ injury such as splenic laceration or other organ damage, which requires urgent surgical intervention. Prognosis: The child's condition is critical, and timely intervention is crucial to prevent further complications such as anemia, organ failure, and untimely death. Exploratory laparotomy to expose and repair the affected organs, rehydration and antibiotics will help rescue this child, and his condition will significantly improve.
