Aisha E., 19

Aisha is a 19year old female currently staying with her father, she lost her mother when she was two years old, she has a brother who is the first born and her only sibling. The father has been doing his best to support the children even without a good job. Aisha graduated from high school and is still hoping to gain admission to further her education, she wishes to become a lawyer. They stay in a house inherited by the father, having 3 rooms, a pit toilet and a well. They have no access to electricity. Aisha a 19year old female who was quite well until about a week ago when she started experiencing an unprovoked gripping pain in her right lower abdomen which radiates to ipsilateral lower limb. There is associated fever and severe headache. She has been having cough with production of whitish sputum and associated chest pain long before the present complaints. The family couldn't afford to pay for the medication that made them seek Helpster Charity support. She was diagnosed with acute appendicitis and had an emergency surgery.

She was diagnosed with acute appendicitis and immediately planned for emergency surgery(appendicectomy). After a successful surgery, she showed classical signs of recovery and was discharged after four days of admission. She is to return after one week for follow up, the family are happy for saving their child's life, they remained grateful to Helpster Charity for the medical support.

The prognosis of acute appendicitis is excellent when diagnosed early and treated promptly with appendectomy and appropriate antibiotics. Most patients recover fully without complications and return to normal activities within a short period. Delayed diagnosis or treatment increases the risk of appendix perforation, abscess formation, peritonitis, and sepsis, which are associated with higher morbidity and longer hospital stay. Children, elderly patients, and pregnant women may present atypically and have a higher risk of complications. Overall, timely surgical intervention results in a very good outcome with minimal long-term effects
