Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Musa Maji is an 18-year-old boy who is resilient and determined. He enjoys hobbies like sports, reading, or creative activities, and dreams of pursuing higher education and a meaningful career while contributing positively to his community. Musa Maji developed sudden, severe left flank pain tha t radiated to his groin, accompanied by nausea and vomiting over three days. Presented at the hospital with sudden onset of left flank pain, with attendant 2 to 3 episodes of left flank pain. Moderately ill and uncomfortable on general physical examination. Abdominal examination shows moderate left costovertebral angle tenderness. Ultrasound scan confirms the presence of kidney stone measuring 2.7cm with moderate hydronephrosis. Diagnosis: Left kidney stone.

Medical history

For months, Musa endured severe pain caused by a large kidney stone. The pain often spread from his back to his side and groin, making it difficult for him to play, sleep, or enjoy daily life. He also suffered from nausea and episodes of vomiting. Doctors determined that the stone was too large to pass naturally and recommended surgery. The procedure was successful, and the stone was safely removed. Within days, Musa's pain began to fade, his appetite returned, and he regained his energy. Today, he is recovering well, free from pain and protected from the risk of kidney damage and infection.

Prognosis

Musa is suffering from Kidney stone which in children causes intense pain (back, side, groin), nausea, vomiting, and blood in the urine, disrupting daily life; if untreated, they can lead to severe infections, blocked urine flow, and long-term kidney damage. Removal of the kidney stone is the best treatment option at this point due to the size of the stone, which is too large to pass through the urethra. The surgery is expected to have a good prognosis, as musa does not have any underlying conditions that could interfere with the procedure. The doctor’s prognosis is that surgical removal of the kidney stone will relieve Musa’s pain, prevent kidney damage, and restore normal kidney function. If left untreated, the stone could cause worsening pain, persistent kidney swelling, infection, or long-term kidney damage.
