Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Sharmin Akter is a gentle and hopeful young mother who dreams of welcoming her first child into a safe and happy home, but her family struggles with severe financial hardship. Her husband, Russell, earns only around 8,000 BDT per month as a daily laborer, which is barely enough to support their five-member family, including his elderly parents and younger sister, making it impossible to afford emergency medical care. As her pregnancy reached full term, serious complications developed with continuous leaking and reduced movement of the baby, putting both mother and child at high risk. Without an immediate caesarean section, the baby could suffer life-threatening distress, and the mother could also face severe complications. After learning about Helpster Charity through miking and a previous beneficiary, the family now holds onto hope for saving both lives.

Medical history

After experiencing, passage of gush of water and leaky membrane for 2 days and less fetal movement for 1 day without progressing labour pain, she arrived at our hospital at 1.00PM in 10 December 2025 and doctors performed an ultrasound that revealed amniotic fluid is very low with fetal distress , making vaginal delivery impossible. An emergency cesarean section was promptly arranged, and the procedure was successful, resulting in the birth of a beautiful male baby. Both the mother and the baby are safe and sound, with no complications arising from the surgery. We discharged the patient at 10.30AM in 13 December 2025.The patient's family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Helpster Heroes and the hospital for their timely and effective care.

Outcome

The doctor's prognosis is that an immediate cesarean section is a crucial, life-saving intervention. The patient's history of premature rupture of membranes, severe oligohydramnios and reduced fetal movement puts both the mother and baby at significant risk. The lack of amniotic fluid can lead to the umbilical cord becoming compressed, which can cut off the baby's oxygen supply and lead to fetal distress, irreversible brain damage, or stillbirth. Without the immediate surgical delivery, the risk of a tragic outcome for the baby is high. The C-section, while a major surgery, offers the best chance to bypass these life-threatening complications and ensure a safe and healthy start to the baby's life.
