Sa’idu Auwali is a quiet, respectful, and resilient 13-year-old boy who is known by his family and peers as hardworking and well-mannered. Despite his recent health challenges, he remains hopeful and cooperative with caregivers. Sa’idu enjoys simple childhood activities such as playing football with friends, helping his parents with household chores, and attending school regularly when he is well. He has a strong interest in learning and dreams of growing up to become a successful professional and hopefully one day to support his family and contribute positively to his community. His determination and optimism reflect a strong spirit and a bright future once his health is restored. Sa’idu Auwali, a 13-year-old boy, developed lower abdominal pain and urinary problems over several months, including painful urination, frequent urination, and blood in the urine. Three days before hospital presentation, his condition worsened, causing severe pain and inability to pass urine. He was diagnosed with a bladder stone (vesical calculus) and is currently stabilized with a urethral catheter while awaiting surgery.

Saidu, a 13-year-old boy, was admitted with urinary retention caused by a bladder stone. A urethral catheter was inserted to relieve the obstruction, after which he underwent a successful cystolithotomy (surgical removal of the bladder stone). He received appropriate postoperative care and close monitoring. Saidu recovered well after surgery. His pain resolved, he was able to urinate normally, and he was discharged home in good condition, ready to resume his normal daily activities. Auwali is suffering from a bladder stone which is causing severe pains, discomfort, and difficulty urinating. With timely surgical treatment, the bladder stone can be removed, which is expected to relieve the child’s pain, restore normal urination, and allow full recovery without long-term complications. If left untreated, the condition may worsen, leading to persistent urinary retention, recurrent bleeding, infections, bladder damage, kidney problems, and serious complications that could threaten the child’s overall health.
