Mujitaba M., 8

Mujitaba is 8 years old and goes to Magaji Rafi Modern Primary School. He's in the second grade. He's the sixth out of 12 kids in his family. Mujitaba loves playing football with his friends. When he grows up, he wants to become a lawyer so he can help people with legal problems. He's a smart and happy child who hopes to have a good life and make his parents proud. However, Mujitaba was diagnosed with a hernia five months ago. The doctor recommended surgery, but because his father couldn't afford the treatment, Mujitaba has been living with the pain instead.

Mujitaba underwent herniorrhaphy surgery at the hospital on December 9th, 2023, which was performed successfully. He was discharged on December 12th, 2023, and has not experienced any recurrence of pain since then. Mujitaba has fully recovered and is now enjoying a happy and healthy life. Jibril, a volunteer from Helpster, visited Mujitaba's home to check on his progress. The family warmly welcomed Jibril and expressed their gratitude to Helpster for their support, not only for Mujitaba but also for other children and families who have received assistance.

The persistent presence of a hydrocele can cause ongoing discomfort, heaviness, or a feeling of fullness in the scrotum. Although hydroceles are not typically associated with infections, untreated ones may become prone to infections, which can result in pain and complications. Larger hydroceles can interfere with activities like walking or participating in sports due to the added weight and size of the swollen scrotum. Surgical removal of the hydrocele sac is the most effective and permanent treatment for hydrocele. It is typically performed as an outpatient procedure under local or general anesthesia. The surgeon makes a small incision in the scrotum, drains the fluid, and removes the sac.
