Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Aklima Begum is a 20-year-old housewife who is pregnant for the first time and lives with her husband Siam, his mother Rujina, and his father Anwar. Siam works as a daily wage laborer and earns only 9,000 taka per month, which is barely enough to meet the family’s daily needs, making it impossible for them to afford emergency medical treatment. Aklima is a caring and hopeful woman who enjoys cooking and dreams of a healthy life with her husband and child. In the last weeks of pregnancy, she developed serious complications with reduced baby movement, and doctors advised an emergency operation to save both mother and child. Without this treatment, there is a high risk of losing the baby and severe danger to Aklima’s life; the family learned about the Helpster Charity Program through local miking and reached out as their only source of support.

Medical history

After experiencing, passage of gush of water and leaky membrane for 2 days and less fetal movement for 02 days without progressing labour pain, she arrived at our hospital at 1.00PM in 19 December 2025 and doctors performed an ultrasound that revealed amniotic fluid is very low with fetal distress , making vaginal delivery impossible. An emergency cesarean section was promptly arranged, and the procedure was successful, resulting in the birth of a beautiful male baby. Both the mother and the baby are safe and sound, with no complications arising from the surgery. We discharged the patient at 10.30AM in 22 December 2025.The patient's family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Helpster Heroes and the hospital for their timely and effective care.

Outcome

The doctor's prognosis is that an immediate cesarean section is a crucial, life-saving intervention. The patient's history of premature rupture of membranes, severe oligohydramnios and reduced fetal movement puts both the mother and baby at significant risk. The lack of amniotic fluid can lead to the umbilical cord becoming compressed, which can cut off the baby's oxygen supply and lead to fetal distress, irreversible brain damage, or stillbirth. Without the immediate surgical delivery, the risk of a tragic outcome for the baby is high. The C-section, while a major surgery, offers the best chance to bypass these life-threatening complications and ensure a safe and healthy start to the baby's life.
