Liana Awinja lives with her mother and three siblings. Her mother is a vegetable vendor at a nearby market, earning a small income that she uses to support the family. Due to financial challenges, Liana has not yet started school, although she eagerly looks forward to joining school soon. At times, she accompanies her mother to the market. Liana developed symptoms of illness, including cough, high fever, and a runny nose. Her mother initially administered over-the-counter medication, but the child’s condition worsened. Liana Awinja presented to hospital with cough, granting associated with difficult in breathing and hotness of the body. She was examined tested and found to have severe pneumonia. She was treated with antibiotics and antipyretics. Liana Awinja was then put under observation for 3 days and discharged home. Liana Awinja is now feeling better and back to her normal activities , she wishes to begin school soon. Her mother is so happy and says thank you helpster charity for assisting my daughter to regain her strength.

Doctor’s opinion: Severe pneumonia is a medical emergency that needs immediate hospital treatment (oxygen, antibiotics, close monitoring). Prognosis: With early and proper treatment, most children recover fully. Without treatment or if care is delayed, it can become life-threatening, especially in young infants or malnourished children.
