Helen Iko is a 34 year old mother is very reserved and accommodating. During her teenage age, she has always dreamt of becoming a nurse but her dreams were cut short due lack of funds. As a mother of Three children, she enjoys playing with her kids and watching movies during her leisure. Helen Iko lives at Roguwa village uke. She was rushed into our facility on 8/01/2026 as a gravida 3 para 1 and 1 dead woman. She was rushed to our facility with history of obstructed labor at 8 cm, 2 previous scars including fetal and maternal distress. Due to the prolonged unprogressive labor, the fetal and mother went into distress and had to be rushed into the theatre for an emergency Caesarean section.

Helen Iko was rushed into the hospital facility on the 8th day of January 2026 and was immediately diagnosed with obstructed labour which required an emergency CS to ensure the safety of mother and child. The process was successful, Mother and baby were kept under supervision for seven days. Recovery has been steady as no complication was observed. Patience was discharged on 15th January,2026.

Helen was suffering from Obstructed Labor which lead to fetal and maternal distress, complications including the death of the child and mother. The prognosis of obstructed labor is generally good if cesarean section is obtained in a timely manner. However, prolonged obstructed labor can lead to stillbirth, obstetric fistula, and maternal death. In fact, obstructed labor is a leading cause of uterine rupture worldwide.
