Khadija Ibrahim Mustapha is a 5-year-old girl from a modest household. She is playful, lively, and enjoys singing rhymes and playing with her peers at home. Khadija recently started showing interest in books and loves listening to stories told by older family members. Her parents hope she will grow up healthy and attend school to become a teacher. Khadija Ibrahim Mustapha, a 5-year-old female, presented with high-grade fever for 4 days. The fever was intermittent, associated with chills and rigors, and partially relieved with antipyretics. She also developed poor appetite, generalized weakness, headache, and body pains. Her parents noticed that she became less playful and more irritable, with occasional vomiting. There was no history of cough, diarrhea, or convulsions. Upon presentation at our hospital, she was examined and laboratory investigation revealed a diagnosis of acute malaria complicated by typhoid fever. She is been treated with Antimalarial drugs, antibiotics, IV fluids and blood tonics.

After falling seriously ill with fever, diarrhea,abdominal pain and headache, Khadija struggled to keep up with school and daily life. Her family, worried and without enough money for treatment, turned to Helpster Charity for support. Thanks to Helpster Charity, she was evaluated and investigated in UMD hospital and diagnosed with Acute Malaria fever complicated by dehydration. She was admitted and had antimalarial drugs,intravenous fluids with other supportive treatment in the hospital for 3 days. Slowly, she recovered, symptoms subsided, and she regained her strength. She was discharged home with her parents, and she can enjoy his childhood and return to school. Khadija is experiencing fever, loss of appetite, general body weakness, and vomiting, which has kept her out of school. She appears moderately dehydrated and very uncomfortable. Prompt treatment of acute malaria, complicated by typhoid fever, is crucial to prevent serious complications. Early and appropriate treatment of acute malaria and typhoid fever have good prognosis and health status will significantly improve to enable her to return back to her regular activities.
